This has been around since I was a kid and it's great to pass along some of my generation's reading material to my kids.
with great solemnity, as though the book were a serious novel. The title of this book says it all. My daughter read it to her children, in a deliberately totally inappropriate way i.e. Both children (and Mummy)fell about laughing, especially because she used that particular tone for reading it, the exact opposite of the humour of the story.We all loved the book. Thoroughly recommended.
Everyone can relate to Alexander and the frustration of having a not-so-good-day. This story is written in a whimsical fashion, which helps us all to look at those less-than-perfect days and realize that some days are just going to end up that way. -We're all going to have days that don't go as we wish they would. This is one of the best kids' books *ever.* I have also given Alexander's story to adult friends who were going through trying times. this book is a great way to show some support for a friend. (Assuming, of course, that the friend's trials and tribulations are not in fact life-threatening).
When my sister was young I would read this book to her. What a blast from the past.
